Al-Ahliyya Amman University Team Qualifies for the Second Stage of Farah Waves Competition

In line with the vision of Al-Ahliyya Amman University related to the importance of student participation in extracurricular activities, the University team qualified for the second stage of Farah Waves Competition launched by Inzaj Al-Arab Group with its project entitled (My Environment My address). The aim of this project is to set up an environment-friendly street to raise awareness among the area residents on the importance of maintaining energy, reducing monthly consumptions of water, electricity, heating and cooling, and preserving natural resources in particular. In the report of the Competition Committee on the second stage of the Competition, the students project entitled “Launching Best Environment-Friendly Street Competition” was approved to be undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment through coordinating national efforts to preserve the environment. The companies interested in participating will be contacted and streets will be designated for each company for its general improvement and to promote environmental awareness. Injaz Al-Arab has launched the competition, which aims to empower young people and promote social responsibility. The program is launched in a number of universities in various countries, including Palestine, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan. Students of various universities have the opportunity to learn a wide range of basic concepts of corporate social responsibility, and most important principles of the willingness to work. The staff of Coca-Cola Middle East and Injaz Al-Arab volunteers provided training and guidance. Students participated in a range of events, which aim to make a positive impact within their communities. It is to be noted that this activity comes within an array of projects undertaken by the Office of Functional Rehabilitation of King Abdullah Fund at Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
