Al-Ahliyya Amman University Strengthens its Community Responsibility by Organizing a Volunteer Olive Harvesting Campaign
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting community initiatives and fostering the values of volunteerism, Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a volunteer campaign for olive harvesting, supervised by the Higher Committee for Activities and Community Service and in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and the Deanship of Student Affairs.
The campaign witnessed wide participation from students of various nationalities, along with several faculty members and representatives from the Saudi Cultural Attaché. The event reflected the spirit of unity and cooperation that the university strives to cultivate within its academic environment.
During the activity, participants were introduced to the stages of the olive harvesting process all the way to pressing, in an atmosphere that carried an authentic rural character. This experience enriched the students’ understanding of the importance of the agricultural sector and its role in supporting the national economy, while reinforcing values related to heritage and identity preservation.
The university affirmed that organizing this campaign aligns with its strategic plan aimed at shaping students’ personalities and developing their sense of national responsibility, in addition to enhancing their role as active partners in serving the community. It also noted that such initiatives form part of its educational mission, which seeks to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The event took place on Saturday, 22 November 2025.
The university added that the continuity of such activities contributes to building an informed generation capable of positive participation in national development. It also underscores the role of educational institutions in supporting community service efforts and promoting values of belonging and giving.
