Al-Ahliyya Amman University President Honors Creatively Distinguished Students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design

Professor Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, honored creatively distinguished students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design in recognition of their outstanding achievements in several artistic and design competitions and awards. The ceremony reflected the university’s commitment to supporting student excellence and celebrating creative accomplishment as an integral part of its academic identity. The ceremony was attended by Professor Rama Al-Rabadi, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Hanan Al-Sheikh, Vice Dean for Accreditation and Quality Affairs. During the event, the University President expressed his pride in the distinguished presence and remarkable accomplishments achieved by the faculty’s students, emphasizing that the university’s mission is founded on three essential pillars: the structure of academic programs, faculty members, and students. He noted that the integration of these elements creates a university environment capable of fostering excellence and transforming young talents into genuine success stories. He also reaffirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting students, encouraging them, and providing an environment that enables creativity, distinction, and confident competition. For her part, Dr. Al-Rabadi explained that the recognition came in appreciation of student participation that demonstrated a high level of seriousness and competitiveness. She noted that the creative and design achievements included the Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design, organized annually by Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the “Story of Resilience of Salt City” Award within a project supported by University of Bath, as well as the international packaging competition Arab Starpack. She added that the fifth edition of the Al-Hourani Award was held under the theme “Continuing the Journey: Jordan 2049,” which provided students with broad opportunities for expression and creativity while linking design concepts to a future national vision. The winning students who achieved first places received certificates of appreciation along with financial and in-kind awards from the University President. The recognition included the winners of the Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design – Fifth Edition 2024/2025: Kristel George Habashi, Maisar Bassam Mazhar, and Zeina Khalil Akour for the short video category through a collaborative project, as well as Layan Ashraf Al-Qawasmi and Rahaf Mahmoud Hamdan for the drawing category.
