Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in Tree Day Celebration

As part of its societal and environmental role, and its commitment to promoting sustainability and national responsibility among students, Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the 2026 Tree Day celebration. The event was organized by The Jordanian Society for Desertification Control and Badia Development, under the patronage of its chairman, Eng. Hassan Jabr, at the Dr. Abdul Latif Arabiyat Center for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development. The University’s participation reflects its mission to integrate academic knowledge with practical application and community service. Students from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, under the supervision of academic staff and in coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs, contributed to planting forest trees. This initiative aimed to promote volunteerism, strengthen a sense of belonging to the land, and preserve natural resources. The event witnessed broad collaboration among academic, municipal, and community institutions, including the Birain Municipality and several educational organizations, presenting an effective model of partnership in addressing environmental challenges, particularly desertification and climate change. Al-Ahliyya Amman University affirms that its participation in Tree Day extends beyond an annual occasion, representing a continuous commitment to environmental security, applied scientific research, and activating students’ role in community service, in line with its vision of being a leading academic and community-oriented institution at both national and regional levels.
