Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the MENA ICT Forum
Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the Middle East and North Africa Information and Communications Technology Forum (MENA ICT Forum), held at the Dead Sea. The event was inaugurated on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Smeirat, representing His Majesty King Abdullah II. The forum attracted nearly 3,000 participants from 40 countries and featured prominent figures from both local and international spheres.
The university was represented by Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Bashar Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Ashraf Nairokh, Director of the Horani Center for E-Learning, and Eng. Munira Al-Tayeb, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Field Training.
This tenth edition of the forum aimed to shape a future vision where technology not only enables but also drives comprehensive growth and progress. Key topics discussed included the role of telecommunications infrastructure in accelerating digital transformation, 5G technologies, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, regional collaboration for developing integrated infrastructures, and innovations in cloud computing, cybersecurity, smart cities, semiconductors, and various technological sectors like financial, medical, and educational technology. The forum explored how these technologies can become central to digital transformation and business growth in the coming years.
