Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the International Turkish Cuisine Summer Program
Ms. Maysa Hasiba, a lecturer from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at AAU, participated in the International Turkish Cuisine Summer Program held in Turkey, under the patronage of the Yunus Emre Institute in Jordan and Ankara.
The program brings together a distinguished group of chefs and culinary experts from around the world to explore the authentic flavors, stories, and traditions that shape the identity of Turkish cuisine. It includes hands-on workshops with culinary professionals, exploration of regional dishes, and cultural tours that highlight the heritage and customs behind each plate.
The program also sheds light on the spiritual dimension of Turkish cuisine, highlighting the philosophy of the Mevlevi (Whirling Dervishes), which reflects values of patience, mindfulness, and unity; principles that are mirrored in the preparation and presentation of food.
Her participation received wide coverage in Turkish newspapers, most notably in Akşam, which praised the program as an experience that blends taste with cultural depth, affirming that Turkish cuisine carries rich cultural meanings alongside its delicious flavors.
