Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the Annual Arab Asian Conference on Biotechnology

Dr Rasha Al Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, participated in the Annual Arab Asian Conference on Biotechnology, organized by the Arab Society for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the National Research Center, in cooperation with the Library of Alexandria, under the theme “Desert Biotechnology and the Sustainability of Life in Arid Regions,” with Al-Ahliyya Amman University as a strategic partner. In a speech delivered on behalf of the university president, Professor Sari Hamdan, Dr Al Tarawneh affirmed the university’s commitment to providing a purposeful scientific and academic environment that prepares a generation capable of addressing research challenges, seizing opportunities to advance scientific inquiry, and strengthening international cooperation. The conference aimed to discuss ways to achieve sustainability and adapt life in arid and semi-arid environments in the Arab region, in addition to addressing the challenges of climate change and food insecurity facing the world. The conference brought together a number of Arab and Asian universities and scientific institutions. Al-Ahliyya Amman University was represented by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, which presented two scientific papers delivered by Dr Rasha Al Tarawneh and Dr Murad Al Maaytah. The conference concluded by emphasizing that modern innovations in desert biotechnology, the enhancement of international research collaboration, and the building of Arab Asian scientific networks are essential pillars for achieving sustainable development and confronting climate and food security challenges.
