Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the Activities of the “Ninth Arab Women Sport Journalists Forum”

On the occasion of Jordan hosting to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, Al-Ahliyya Amman University represented by Dr. Majid Osaileh, Dean of Student Affairs, and Ms. Hiba Al-Shurafa’, Head of the Media Department, participated in the activities of the “Ninth Arab Women Sport Journalists Forum” during the period 2-5/4/2016, which was organized by the Arab Sport Press Association, in coordination and cooperation with the local organizing Committee of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the Jordanian Sports Press Association, with the participation of 16 Arab countries.The aim of the University participation was to promote and encourage the University students to participate and volunteer in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The first day events included a visual presentation by the Executive Director of the U-17 Women’s World Cup, Samar Nassar, on the latest equipment which had been prepared in the courts and facilities. Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, Deputy Mayor of Amman, spoke about the capital of Amman on the preparations for the event reception, as Captain Ahmad Shuber spoke about the importance of media to the World Cup and its promotion. While the second day events included a variety of lectures on new media and its quantum in the field of news dissemination and how to deal with social networking websites.It is worth mentioning that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on September of this year.
