Al-Ahliyya Amman University organizes the Fifth Annual Iraqi Poetry Festival

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, Iraqi Cultural Advisor in Jordan, the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Iraqi community in Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized the Fifth Annual Iraqi Poetry Festival in Nizar Qabbani Auditorium.Dr. Mohammad Al-Baldawi, representative of the Iraqi community at the University, expressed in his speech his pride in holding the Iraqi Poetry Festival for the fifth year in the presence of Iraqis poets and a large gathering of students from the Iraqi community at the University. He noted that the University is home to the largest number of the Iraqi community in various disciplines.Dr. Sadeq Hamed welcomed the Iraqi community attendees to the capital Amman and to Al-Ahliyya Amman University. He directed a letter of warm feelings from Al-Ahliyya Amman University to Baghdad, the symbol of history and civilization. He noted that the University has pleasure to host the Iraqi community students who are distinguished for their high morals and knowledge, in addition to the Iraqi faculty members who enriched the University with their knowledge and experience.Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, Iraqi Cultural Advisor, thanked Al-Ahliyya Amman University administration for hosting this cultural and artistic festival. This activity falls within several cultural, literary and sports activities and initiatives that foster the youth spirit. Dr. Al-Issa stressed the need to work on self-empowerment among students and attract youth energies to lead innovation and creativity in order for them to become community leaders in the future. The festival included a number of poetry recitations by the poets Hazem Jaber and Labeed Hani and students Mustafa Al-Ani and Hasan Dahoush of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Ali Rahman and Mustafa Al-Qubaisi of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. In addition, a personal exhibition by student Yasser Nabil was inaugurated. At the end of the ceremony, the participant poets and journalists from Iraqi and Arab channels were honored for covering the events of the festival.
