Al-Ahliyya Amman University organizes free medical day in collaboration with Zay Charitable Society

The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in collaboration with the Zay Charitable Society, organized a free medical awareness day last Wednesday in service of the local community.The medical day included awareness lectures on the safe usage of herbs, medicines, and detergents at home, in addition to skin care and cancer awareness, under the supervision of Dr. Maha Abu Hajleh, Head of the Department of Aesthetics and Dr. Reem Issa of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The event also included free medical and laboratory screenings. The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, in collaboration with Megalab Laboratories Group, conducted blood sugar, blood pressure, and Hemoglobin tests. The Department of Optometry, under the supervision of Dr. Yazan Qamwa, head of the department, and ophthalmologist Dr. Bahudin Jabr, conducted visual examination, Extraocular muscles movement, diplopia, and achromatopsia (color blindness). The Department of Audiology & Speech Pathology also conducted hearing tests, middle ear examination, language skills evaluation, and tests of speech disorders. The department of Cosmetics Science, in collaboration with Sipa Meade, distributed cosmetics free samples.A group of faculty members, administrators, and students from both colleges participated in the organization of this medical day, which was well received by the community. This initiative confirms the role of Al-Ahliyya Amman University in serving the local community.
