Al-Ahliyya Amman University Organizes a Reception for the New Students

Under the patronage of the University President, Prof.Sadeq Hamed, and in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Majed Usaili, and a number of deans and heads of departments, the Deanship of Student Affairs, in Al-Ahliyya Amman University, organized a large reception for the new students enrolled during the second semester of the academic year 2016-2017. The reception began with the National Anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Then, the President of the University welcomed the students commending them on their good choice to join the University which is the first among private universities in Jordan and the region. He added that the University has a distinguished mission, programs, march and distinctive graduates. He also confirmed that the University is keen on providing its students with knowledge, qualified educational processes, safe environment and purposeful extracurricular activities. All of this exist in a meaningful family atmosphere governed by values of love, tolerance and belonging. He also advised students to read their study plans, to benefit from the University facilities and to benefit from the diverse activities offered to them. He noted that 27 thousand students had graduated from the University so far. The graduates proved their capabilities and competencies in different areas of the labor market. Moreover, a big number of them work in Jordan and abroad testifying that they are ideal representatives of the University and Jordan.The celebration included an introductory video about the University, its faculties and departments. Dr. Hussein Al-Tarawneh, the Director of the Center of Guidance and Special Education, shed the light on the Center’s objectives and the guidance services which the Center offers to students and the local community. He also talked about the vision, objectives and the core values of the University. The celebration included also many activities such as cultural and entertaining competitions which the Department of Public and International Relations prepared and through which prizes were handed to winners. The University band also participated in the event by playing several pieces of the Jordanian folklore.
