Al-Ahliyya Amman University launches its scientific forum COVID- 19 ... Reality, Challenges and Future.
The Deanship of Scientific Research at Al-Ahliyya Amman University inaugurated its online scientific forum today Sunday 14-2-2021 under the title COVID-19: Reality, Challenges and a Future which addressed several realistic scientific tracks related to the Corona pandemic and its impact on various sectors.The Vice President for Scientific Faculties Affairs, Dean of Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Kaabneh, started the forum with a welcoming statement and explaining that this forum comes as part of several activities carried out by the university to celebrate 100 years of the Jordanian state.His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. “Muhammad Khair” Abu Qadis thanked the university for holding this forum and enlightened the role of the Ministry of Higher Education in governing the educational sector and e-learning procedures during the Corona pandemic. HE also thanked Al-Ahliyya Amman University for their efforts and leading role in e-learning during the lockdown. On the other hand, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani (Chairman of the Board of Directors) highlighted the pivotal role of Al-Ahliyya Amman University in overcoming the current stage that Jordan is going through in facing the Corona epidemic and the measures taken by the university to ensure the continuation of the educational process in a manner that provides the highest levels of efficiency and competence. His Excellency Dr. Hazem Al-Rahleh (Director General of the Social Security Corporation), presented the role of social security corporation in facing the Corona pandemic and defined measures taken to support the task force. The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, thanked everyone for attending and gave a detailed action plan taken by Al-Ahliyya Amman University to raise the university’s level during the Corona period, especially in distance learning, and appreciating the effort made by all employees at the university to make Al-Ahliyya Amman University a leading university in e-learning and indicated that AAU was rewarded FIVE starts in QS e-learning criteria.In addition, HE Dr. Ghazi Jabour (Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority) participated in the forum by indicating the pivotal role that the Commission has played in providing Internet service for all students to get connected with their universities.
