Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosts the world champion in gymnastics, Ahmad Abu Al-Soud

Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted the Jordanian world champion in gymnastics, Ahmad Abu Al-Soud, who won the silver medal in the pommel horse event at the World Gymnastics Championship in Liverpool. This championship featured more than 400 athletes representing 74 countries worldwide. The Jordanian Olympic Committee stated that Ahmad Abu Al-Soud is the first Arab athlete to win a medal in the history of the World Gymnastics Championship, which first took place in 1903. Ahmad Abu Al-Soud secured his spot in the final, which included 8 athletes, after ranking eighth out of 142 competitors in the pommel horse event. In celebration of this victory and under the patronage of Prof. Sari Hamdan, the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university, has organized a meeting with the Jordanian world champion, Ahmad Abu Al-Soud. The meeting was attended by faculty and administrative members along with a large number of students in the Mahmoud Darwish Auditorium. During the meeting, the champion gymnast Ahmad Abu Al-Soud expressed his deep appreciation for the strong support he received from His Majesty the King, in which His Majesty has honored him with the King Abdullah II Medal for Excellence, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, and Her Royal Highness Princess Rahma bint Al Hassan, President of the Gymnastics Federation. Abu Al-Soud considered this recognition a motivation not only for himself but also for all athletes and sports enthusiasts to continue their journey and contributions to sports. In a motivational speech to the students, Ahmad Abu Al-Soud shared his inspirational journey in the world of gymnastics. In addition, he praised the support that he has been receiving from the Jordanian Olympic Committee, the Olympic Preparation Center, and the community of gymnastics. Moreover, he expressed his immense gratitude to Al-Ahliyya Amman University for its continuous support of sports and athletes.
