Al-Ahliyya Amman University Hosts Scientist Prof. Dr. Rana Dajani
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the Faculty of Supporting Medical Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University hosted Prof. Dr. Rana Dajani of the Faculty of Science at the Hashemite University where she gave an interesting scientific lecture to the audience about her research path, and the latest results of the scientific studies she and her research teams have reached.On the sidelines of the lecture, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Tannani, Dean of the Faculty of Supporting Medical Sciences/Director of the Center for Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Research, hosted Prof. Dr. Dajani in his office and exchanged thoughts on ways to enrich research cooperation. Prof. Dr. Al-Tannani accompanied Prof. Dr. Dajani on a tour of the Center for Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Research at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ashok Shakia, Assistant Dean for The Center's Affairs, where the latest research devices unique to the Center for Pharmaceutical and Diagnostic Research were displayed, which would help increase the opportunities for research cooperation between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and distinguished scientists such as Dr. Dajani.Dr. Zeina Alami, Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medical Sciences, said that this lecture is part of a series of lectures to share knowledge and expertise as she personally coordinates a series of scientific and research lectures on Wednesdays of each week, and hosts scientists from within Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in addition to local and international universities, to expand the horizons of scientific research among faculty members and higher education students in the Faculty of Supporting Medical Sciences, and to enhance research cooperation between local and international scientific authorities.It is worth mentioning that Prof. Dr. Rana Dajani is a mother, teacher, scientist, social leader and feminist activist who has been able to make a difference in societies by launching social campaigns and initiatives. She is also a specialist in cell biology and is a global reference in genetic diseases in minorities. Prof. Dr. Rana's research focuses on understanding signals between cells and studying genome-level association with regard to diabetes, cancer and stem cells. She heads a group of institutions and initiatives and has received several scientific grants, is a visiting consultant and researcher at several international universities and is the founder of a large number of initiatives related to literacy, empowering and supporting women and young people, and has received many high-level Arab and international awards.Dr. Dajani donated a signed copy of her book (The Five Scarves - Achieving the Impossible) to Al-Ahliyya Amman University Library and wrote a dedication to all students and professors the university.
