Al-Ahliyya Amman University honors pharmacy pioneers
On the occasion of the first anniversary of opening the Virtual Pharmacy at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, which was constructed through generous contribution by Dr. Rouhi Kilani, the founder of the Virtual Pharmacy, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the University, under the patronage of Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, organized a ceremony honoring the pioneers of the pharmacy profession in Jordan.The ceremony included several sketches, including a lecture entitled “Career Pathing” delivered by Dr. Naji Najib, Director of the International Center for Pharmaceuticals Research, in which he addressed the difficulties he faced during his career path, the stages of his study and work in the pharmacy industry, and the achievements he made.Dr. Hassan Mu’tee, Assistant Dean for Pharmacist Training, indicated that there are many events that raise the level of the students, the most important of which are training and pharmaceutical consulting courses. Dr. Raafat Abu-Saleh, Vice President of Jordan Pharmacists Association, delivered a speech in which he praised the level of pharmacy students at the University as reflected by their achievements in the Association Assessment Examination, which is held every month. He praised the administration of Al-Ahliyya Amman University for the interest exhibited by the Faculty of Pharmacy administrators, faculty members, and students, and the close follow-up of the Faculty of Pharmacy students. Dr. Tayseer Homsi, former Vice President of the Pharmacists Association, who delivered a speech on behalf of his fellow honored pharmacists, expressed his wishes for the Faculty of Pharmacy to be a beacon of knowledge that benefit everyone. Dr. Homsi underscored his pride in this honoring ceremony, which is the first ceremony of its kinds. He wished the Faculty of Pharmacy students further achievements in order to be remarkable success stories. In his speech, Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, expressed the University pride with this meeting, which brought together the pioneers of the profession of pharmacy who have long experience and history in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Dr. Hamed also welcomed the youth pioneers of the future. He directed the University students to follow the example of these leading pharmacists to reach their goals. Dr. Hamed commended the efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy management and distinguished students who have achieved success rates of 100% for more than three consecutive courses. Al-Ahliyya Amman University is the only university in Jordan to achieve these rates, thanks to the efforts of the Faculty professors. He wished the honored pharmacists long and prosperous life.During the ceremony, the ten oldest pharmacists, members of Jordan Pharmacists Association, were honored, namely Dr. Samih Al-Adham, Dr. Tayseer Homsi, Dr. Medhat Darwish, Dr. Eid Zawayda, Dr. Vicon Petro Sabsyouti, Dr. Mousa Awad, Dr. Nabih Al-Nabulsi, Dr. Ahmad Tawfiq Hijazi, and Dr. Hossam El-Din Mismar.The ceremony was attended by deans of faculties of the University, faculty members, and administrative personnel of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, members of the Pharmaceutical Field Training Committee, and a large number of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of AAU, delivered commemorative shields to the honored pioneer pharmacists of the members of Jordan Pharmacists Association.
