Al-Ahliyya Amman University honors Dr. Alia Saleh, former dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

In pursuit of the University concern to honor its outstanding faculty members and administrative staff, on Sunday, 10.19.2014, AAU has honored Dr. Alia Saleh, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, on the occasion of the end of her service as dean of the Faculty. At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed delivered a speech in which he praised the outstanding and sincere efforts of Dr. Alia during her tenure at the University. Dr. Hamed commended the efforts of all faculty members and administrative staff in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He stressed that the Faculty will see a paradigm shift by adding new disciplines, especially in the field of graduate studies. Dr. Sadeq underscored the importance of teamwork and respect for ideals and work ethics, motivating continuous and diligent work, and adherence to the University vision and educational mission. He stressed the need to improve the educational process with which faculty members are entrusted. Faculty members are required to be fair in evaluating students, he added. He called on everyone to participate in all stages of academic construction to serve the educational process and contribute to the refinement of students’ academic personality in order to ensure their excellence and improvement of their performance to be able to enter the labor market more easily. Prof. Hamed stressed that the University environment is conducive for education, scientific research and community service. He indicated the strategic goals of the University, including achieving justice, fairness, transparency, academic freedom and interaction with the community and its needs. The University is an integral part of community development and building, promoting the efficiency of institutional performance and commitment to quality standards in which the University has gone long way. Dr. Hamed added that the University strives to develop the capacity of its faculty members and administrative staff. Therefore, there is need to identity the requirements of the various departments and develop scientific research, which should exceed promotion goals to providing scientific approved research. At the end of the ceremony, the President of the University presented the University Shield to Dr. Alia in recognition of her efforts.
