Al-Ahliyya Amman University holds Civil Rights Course for Balqa Governorate employees

In the context of strengthening ongoing communication between Al-Ahliyya Amman University and local community institutions, and promoting exchange of experience and knowledge, the Faculty of Law at Al-Ahliyya Amman University held Human Rights Course for the staff of Balqa Governorate. The course lasted for two days and included specialized lectures on human rights and international standards of human rights. The lectures focused on the most important legal, international and national sources of human rights norms stated in the Charter of the United Nations, and the rights of Jordanian citizens under the Constitution of Jordan. An overview was presented concerning the constitutions that were enacted in Jordan, starting from the Constitution of 1928, which was called the Basic Law, the Constitution of 1946, until the present constitution, as amended. The issues of integrity and corruption were addressed, including corruption, methods of its measurement, types, and its expected negative effects on economy and development.
