Al-Ahliyya Amman University Holds an International Competition on “Mock Trials”
Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, patronized the joint activity organized by AAU Faculty of Law with the Faculty of Law at Al-Najah National University. This competition embodies Al-Ahliyya Amman University vision to consolidate cooperation with Jordanian and Arab universities. HE Dr. Najem Rabadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, delivered a speech in which he expressed the pleasure of the University in general, and the Faculty of Law in particular, with holding such activities that enhance the spirit of cooperation and the acquisition of scientific and practical expertise by students, including refining their characters, developing their legal skills, and employing principles and legal rules properly. Dr. Rabadi stressed that this event comes within extracurricular activities that provide focused training for students and attendees. Dr. Mustafa Abdel Baqi, Head of the Palestinian Delegation and coordinator of the event, spoke on behalf of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). He stated that he takes pride in his presence in Al-Ahliyya Amman University and in participating in this contest where two parties plead in a mock case related to international disputes, human rights and specific criminal issues. The contest will refine student’s personality concerning the practical application of legal norms, he noted. He also conveyed his gratitude to Al-Ahliyya Amman University, represented by its President and management. At the conclusion of the activities of the contest, Prof. Dr. Imad Rabee, President of the Jury, announced the winning teams. Al-Ahliyya Amman University students won in the first round of the debate, while Al-Najah National University students won in the second round. Dr. Sadeq Hamed presented certificates to students, members of the jury, professors and trainers of both universities.
