Al-Ahliyya Amman University Holds a Seminar Entitled Legal and Medical Opinion on Do Not Resuscitate (DNR)

In line with Al-Ahliyya Amman University vision concerning the importance of extracurricular activities that refine students’ characters and develop their practical and scientific skills, a lecture entitled (Do Not Resuscitate “DNR”) was held in coordination with the students of the Faculty of Nursing at the University enrolled in “Trends and Ethics of the Nursing Profession” Course, with participation by students of the faculties of Nursing and Law. Dr. Khaldoun Hamdan discussed the issue from a medical perspective, focusing on health care provided to patients suffering from terminal conditions, such as euthanasia, and palliative care. Dr. Najem Rabadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, addressed the legal opinion in cases of non-resuscitation upon heart failure. At the end of the lecture, the professors answered the audience questions and queries.
