Al-Ahliyya Amman University granted the Admission and Registration Organization Conference Shield as the first Jordanian university to implement e-Register System
Under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education of Lebanon, the Thirtieth Annual Conference of the Arab Organization for Admission and Registration Officers in Arab universities was held in Beirut. The conference entitled “Admission and Registration Challenges under Technological Developments” was organized by the University of Arts and Technology. The conference was attended by 15 Arab countries representing higher education ministries and universities. Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, headed a delegation, accompanied by Dr. Mustafa Yassin, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology. Dr. Saleem presented a working paper entitled “Supportive and Appropriate Environment for Modern Education in the University” in which he addressed Al-Ahliyya Amman University directions through the modern environment adopted by the University to support the teaching and learning process. Al-Ahliyya Amman University aims to become the leading Arab university through preparing graduates who are eligible to supplement the labor market with the required expertise and specialties and who are equipped with the necessary qualifications and knowledge, without the need to enroll in programs providing them with the appropriate abilities and skills required in the market. The University seeks to produce graduates who have the skills to use information technology in their respective fields through the integration of advanced academic programs, and who are equipped with practical experience that meets the changing requirements of our time. Dr. Saleem demonstrated the learning environment of the University which is based on the integration of computerized and comprehensive systems to cover all practical and operational aspects at the University, in addition to supporting decision-making and planning processes based on information. These adopted systems are based on the latest technology as well as the best processing methods, he added. Dr. Saleem noted that the University has adopted the University Information Management System “e-Register”. At the end of the conference, Dr. Saleem received a commemorative shield in recognition of Al-Ahliyya Amman University achievements as it is the first Jordanian university to apply the University Information Management System “e-Register”.
