Al-Ahliyya Amman University Celebrates World Arabic Language Day

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a special cultural event to mark World Arabic Language Day, welcoming a distinguished group of poets from the Jordanian Poets Association to emphasize the importance of the Arabic language and its central role in literature and cultural thought. The event featured Mr. Taysir Al-Shamasin, President of the Jordanian Poets Association, along with association members: Dr. Mohammad Al-Mahasneh, Ms. Haneen Nassar, Mr. Ziad Al-Saudi, and Mr. Ali Al-Faouri. The celebration was organized under the guidance of Professor Dr. Linda Al-Khawaja, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, with the support of Dr. Omaima Al-Rawashdeh and Professor Dr. Feda Ghnaim. The program highlighted the significance of Arabic in poetry and literature, providing students and faculty with the opportunity to engage directly with the poets and gain insights from their creative expertise. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the dean handed plaques to the participating poets in the presence of faculty members and students, recognizing their valuable contributions to enriching the event and supporting the university’s cultural life. The faculty emphasized that initiatives like this foster cultural pride and linguistic awareness among the university community, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to programs and activities that enrich campus life and celebrate Arabic literature and poetry.
