Al-Ahliyya Amman University celebrates the graduation of its twenty-first class of students
Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani, founder of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, the University celebrated the graduation of its twenty-first class of students for the academic year 2013 - 2014 which was held on Saturday, 8/3/2014. The ceremony was inaugurated with a rendition of the national anthem, and reciting verses from the Holy Quran by student Omar Attiya of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Atiyat, delivered the University speech to the graduates. Dr. Attiyat congratulated the students and their parents for their outstanding effort. The University celebrates the graduation of a new group of knowledge and action champions, who will serve the country and the nation and assume their responsibilities as actors of change wherever their position might be, he stated. Dr. Attiyat pointed out that the University decisively and adamantly seeks to be the center of intellectual enlightenment and excellence, and proceeds, at a regular and consistent pace, to achieve its goals towards the development of the educational process and community service. He added that this cherished occasion is the culmination of years of study under active supervision of the instructors and support of parents. He called the students to undertake responsibility after graduation, honor the name of the University in all forums and events, and act as knowledge champions and national builders. The University celebrated the graduation of the first class of MBA joint program with Edinburgh College of Business Administration at the world-class British Heriot-Watt University, which was introduced within the joint cooperation program between the two universities. Prof. Dr. Asim Sheikh, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, affirmed that the University provides the latest and most advanced facilities, technical equipment, and human resources that ensure the success of the program. This is reflected in the outstanding results of students enrolled in the program, compared with their peers at Heriot-Watt University from all over the world. On the other hand, student Aya Owaida delivered a speech on behalf of her fellow graduates. She expressed that the graduates take unabashed pride in their University, which is the source of their confidence and gratitude. Owaida expressed her gratitude to the professors and all those who helped them throughout their journey in the University. Dr. Basil Hanainah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, recited the graduation statement announcing that the students have completed the graduation requirements for BA and MA degrees in the various faculties of the University. The Council of Deans, based on the recommendation of the councils of the departments and the faculty councils, decided to award them the degrees to which they are entitled. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani handed over the certificates to the graduates and the souvenirs to the to-performing students.
