Al-Ahliyya Amman University celebrates its first-year students

Al-Ahliyya Amman University celebrated its incoming first-year students for the year 2013-2014, which coincides with the Arab and Islamic nation celebration of the beginning of the Hijri year. The ceremony, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Nizar Qabbani Auditorium, was inaugurated with rendition of the Royal anthem, followed by reciting verses of the Holy Quran. Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of the University, welcomed the students and expressed his pleasure to meet them. The University is keen to provide convenience means for students on which it depends to promote its reputation, he noted. Dr. Sadeq added that the University is honored to host the new students. He stated that Al-Ahliyya Amman University is the first Arab and Jordanian private university, which was founded by Dr. Ahmad Al-Hourani. More than twenty thousand students of the highest qualifications have graduated from the University from more than 70 countries around the world. Some of these graduates have become presidents of universities, deans, heads of departments, or remarkable employees. Dr. Sadeq stressed that the University takes pride in the ethics of its students. He called the students to have faith in themselves, and he boosted their morale and congratulated them on the beginning of a brand new life and journey.In his speech, Dr Mustafa Atayat, Dean of Student Affairs, called the students to invest their time by focusing on educational attainment and to make use of the premium environment offered by the University for students, as well as the remarkable faculty members of proven efficiency. He also called the students to utilize the various facilities of the University, such as Hourani e-Learning Centre, Arena Complex, the libraries of the faculties, and the other supportive educational and administrative facilities.During the ceremony, a range of entertainment sketches were presented for the new students, including songs and educational competitions, during which gifts courtesy of Umniah were presented to the winners. At the end of the ceremony, souvenirs were distributed to all new students. An exhibition was inaugurated for the sponsors, which included Smart Solution Foundation, a medical team from the University of Jordan, “We Are Responsible”, Nescafe, and Red Bull.
