Al-Ahliyya Amman University celebrates freshman students

Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, sponsored the reception ceremony for freshman students for the academic year 2014-2015. Dr. Hamed welcomed the attendees and congratulated them for choosing AAU, which is the leading private Arab University. He said that the University has taken all measures to facilitate the admission of students. He stressed the University commitment to refine student personality, produce highly qualified competencies, and provide them with the skills that qualify them to keep abreast of developments in the labor market. Dr. Sadeq indicated that students are an active element in community development and they have to invest the University capabilities, facilities and extracurricular activities, and interact with all social groups to achieve harmony and effective social communication. He called on students to exhibit diligence and perseverance, foster the culture of dialogue, and to accept the other opinion to be up to the challenge and promote the excellence and achievements of this University. He added that the University is proud of its elite faculty members and administrative staff who help maintain the sustainability of excellence and innovation and provide assistance to the students. The University is a crucible where ideas and opinions interact through dialogue and denouncement of violence, which helps create students who are capable of positive interaction in the surrounding environment, he noted. Dr. Sadeq affirmed that the University graduates have a remarkable footprint in any place they work at, whether in the public or private sector. Dr. Sadeq encouraged the students to promote the concept of citizenship and belonging to the nation, preserve its achievements and potentials, and take part in the overall development through the University environment, which provides them with the appropriate place for a safe university life.Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Atiat, also delivered a speech in which he said that the University opens its arms to the students and provides them with an integrated environment and appropriate academic atmosphere. We welcome you and we are determined to offer you all forms of support, care and attention, he noted. He added that the development of an integrated personality and providing student services as well as cultural, artistic and sports activities are among the top priorities and principles of the University. Dr. Atiat called the students to take advantage and optimize the use of all university facilities, including Al-Hourani, e-Learning Center, Arena Cultural Complex and the various libraries on campus.The ceremony, which was attended by deans, faculty members, students, administrative staff and freshman students, featured artistic sketches and songs performed by the University band, in addition to cultural competitions which were well-received by the audience.
