Al-Ahliyya Amman University Becomes the First Jordanian University to Obtain ISO 22000 Certification for Food Safety Management

In a new achievement reflecting its leadership in implementing international quality and accreditation standards, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Al-Ahliyya Amman University has obtained ISO 22000 certification for its Food Safety Management System (FSMS), making it the first Jordanian university to receive this international certification in the field of food safety management. This achievement reaffirms the University’s commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and international accreditation across its various fields. Acting President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Hamdan, received the certification and praised the Faculty, its Dean and supervisors, as well as its academic and administrative staff and students, for their efforts in achieving this milestone. The certification demonstrates the Faculty’s commitment to implementing international best practices in food safety management by ensuring the safety of all processes related to the receiving, storage, preparation, processing, and serving of food within its kitchens, laboratories, and training facilities. This commitment is aligned with the requirements of the international standard and contributes to fostering a culture of risk prevention and continuous improvement. Obtaining this certification also contributes to enhancing the Faculty’s educational and training environment by providing students with advanced practical experience that aligns with international standards and the requirements of the hospitality and food industries. This enhances their readiness for the labor market and strengthens their ability to implement food safety management systems professionally. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the University’s administration and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, along with its academic and administrative staff, technical teams, and students, in establishing a culture of quality, excellence, and innovation. It further strengthens Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s position as a leading academic institution in applied education and as a hub for developing highly qualified professionals in accordance with the highest international standards, in line with its vision of academic excellence and service to the community.
