Al-Ahliyya Amman University Basketball Team achieves the Second Place in the Blink Universities League

Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness, Princess Sumayya bint Al-Hasan, the Jordanian Universities Basketball League concluded its tournaments on Thursday 8/9/2022 for the “Blink League for Universities” at Al-Hussein City for Youth. Al-Ahliyya Amman University Basketball Team has achieved the second place in the tournament where our University Team managed to pass the first round of the tournament by surpassing Al-Balqa Applied University, Mutah University and Yarmouk University, and also passing the second round by surpassing Yarmouk University, the Jordanian University of Science and Technology and the University of Jordan.In the final round, Princess Sumaya University for Technology was ranked the first in an exciting match against our University Team held at the University of Applied Sciences by 13 points, to be ranked the second in the tournament.The player Fadi Fahmy Awad was chosen in the “Perfect Selection” in Blink Universities League for the 2022 season and the player Nader Ahmad Mustafa winning the award of “Best Ball Pass” along with winning the three-pointer competition that was held during the closing ceremony at Al-Hussein City for Youth as well as choosing the player Misk Rouhi in the “Perfect Selection” in the Women’s League. The University Team for Basketball was represented by the following: Fadi Fahmi Awwad, Nader Ahmad Mustafa, Abdelkareem Hatem Khdaish, Hamzah Tariq Al-Taher, Fayyad Al-Taher, Ahmad Mohammad Nobeh and Yazeed Merie Al-Ghafel from our Business School and Mohammad Hashem Abu Wardeh from our Architecture and Design Faculty, in addition to Abdullah Saqer Abu Tawahineh from our Nursing Faculty. The Team was supervised by Mr. Suhaib Al-Tarawneh and Ms. Areen Qtaishat, the sports activity supervisors at our Deanship of Student Affairs. At the closing of the Championship, the representative of H.E. Princess Sumayya, His Excellency Prof. Sari Hamdan, President of our University and President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, presented shields of honor to the participating universities in the tournament in addition to handling medals to the winning teams in the first three places in the student’s Blink League Championship.
