Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cooperation in Training and Scientific Research

Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in practical training, scientific and applied research, and the exchange of expertise. The agreement seeks to contribute to the preparation of highly qualified national talent, align higher education outcomes with labor market needs, and promote innovation in the fields of energy, engineering, and modern technologies. The MoU was signed on behalf of Amman Ahliyya University by the Acting President of the University, Professor Ahmad Hamdan, accompanied by the Vice President of the University and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Bashar Al-Tarawneh. Representing the Commission, the agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Eng. Ziad Al-Saaydeh, in the presence of several officials from both parties. Professor Ahmad Hamdan emphasized that the agreement reflects Al-Ahliyya Amman University's commitment to building strategic partnerships with leading national institutions. He noted that such partnerships enhance the quality of applied education, provide students with valuable training and research opportunities that help develop their skills and practical experience, improve their readiness for the labor market, and support applied scientific research that serves national development priorities. For his part, Eng. Ziad Al-Saaydeh stated that the signing of the MoU is part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to expand collaboration with higher education institutions. He explained that the partnership aims to strengthen national capacities, foster integration between academic learning and practical application, and provide distinguished opportunities for student training and professional development in line with the needs of the sectors regulated by the Commission, while supporting the country's sustainable development goals. Under the terms of the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in implementing joint research and applied projects, organizing training programs, workshops, and specialized lectures, and exchanging expertise and information. The agreement also provides practical training opportunities for students in engineering and technology disciplines, supports graduation projects, and organizes field visits. These initiatives are intended to strengthen the integration between academic education and practical application, prepare qualified national professionals capable of keeping pace with developments in the energy and mining sectors, and support innovation and sustainable development in Jordan.
