Al-Ahliyya Amman University and Hashemite University discuss sharing expertise in international rankings

Assistant President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University for Foreign Affairs and International Rankings, Dr. Anas Al-Saud, met with the President of the Hashemite University, Dr. Fawaz Al-Abdalaq Al-Zboun, in the presence of Vice President, Dr. Sultan Al-Maani, Dean of Academic Development and International Communication, Dr. Adnan Abu Surra, and Vice and Assistant Deans.Dr. Al-Zboun highlighted the role of the Deanship of Academic Development in disseminating the culture of quality, development, and classification among faculty members, in addition to its important role in international networking and enhancing cooperation with prestigious international universities and ranking institutions. He added that the Hashemite University financially supports publishing and scientific research that is commensurate with national research priorities and enhances the university's reputation internationally, stressing the importance of promoting joint research among Jordanian universities.There is evident and significant progress made by the Hashemite University in international rankings and in promoting many standards, particularly scientific research and publishing standards and academic reputation,” said Dr. Al-Saud.Dr. Al-Saud spoke about the importance of public and private sectors partnership, in addition to the exchange of expertise and experiences among national universities in data collection and proper processing of data in international rankings, particularly QS and The Times.He also spoke about participating in the mechanisms and procedures of applying for prestigious international rankings, their standards, indicators, and objectives, particularly improving the quality of education, enhancing its potentials to excel, locally and regionally, and entering international competitiveness.Dr. Al-Maani stressed the importance of teamwork among national universities, especially cooperation in the scientific, academic, and research fields, in addition to maintaining the reputation of Jordanian higher education and enhancing the classification of Jordanian universities in various international rankings.Dr. Abu Surra said that the Deanship of Academic Development at the Hashemite University seeks cooperation and networking with all national expertise in order to raise awareness on accreditation standards and enhance the reputation of Jordanian public and private universities in international rankings.Dr. Abu Surra also spoke about the most notable achievements of the Deanship during the first semester, namely conducting the evaluation process for all faculty members, preparing for holding a university education course for new faculty members, adopting the university as a center for conducting the proficiency exam for university students in Zarqa Governorate, preparing for a workshop for academic development liaison officers, as well as holding workshops for disseminating the culture of university ranking.
