Al-Ahliyya Amman participates in Scientific Research Society discussions on use of nanotechnology with grape crops
Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated on Monday 6-12-2021 in the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Leadership, and Creativity, which included discussions on the project Jobs opportunities and environmental sustainability using nanotechnology products for grape crops in the Mediterranean implemented by Jordan in cooperation with the European Union and partner countries. The meeting aimed to review the achievements of the project during the past period and its results and innovative ideas. It also focused on the main activities of the project that are conducive to enabling and helping entrepreneurs develop innovative business ideas that turn into emerging startups.The President of the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Leadership and Creativity, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Reda Al Khawalda, confirmed that the activities and achievements accomplished by the project since its launch in February 2020 in Jordan were reviewed. The Society carried out training in the creation of startups, which included 13 training units for business startups and 3 live laboratories, in cooperation with Al-Ahliyya Amman University. Al Khawalda praised the cooperation between the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Leadership, Creativity and theUniversity.He added that many speakers in the entrepreneurship ecosystem have been hosted, noting that the results of specialized and intensive training provided to potential entrepreneurs by project partners are substantial and unusual. Many of the 40 ideas developed and improved to be applicable and efficient were discussed.Dr. Anas Al Saud, Assistant President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University for Foreign Affairs, presented the university's role and efforts in enhancing the ability of entrepreneurs and innovators to develop their ideas and the programs supported by the university in this regard, highlighting the cooperation with the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Leadership and Creativity in this aspect.Project Coordinator Genalji Pashita, and the EU Cross-Border Cooperation Program Coordinator Dr. Esmat Karadsha also spoke about the project's achievements and its support for startups and purposeful projects.Several projects have been submitted by entrepreneurs from partner countries (France, Italy, Lebanon, and Tunisia), as well as Jordan, four of which to be nominated to win a financial reward.It’s worth noting that the project coordinator, Dr. Sabah Sea'afan, supervises the implementation of all project stages and that the general manager of the Academia-Industry Integration Platform, Khaled Khreissat, oversees the implementation of training and project design stages for entrepreneurs and teams.
