Al-AAN Satellite Channel Broadcasts a Youth Dialogue Program Titled ‘The Youth Forum’ With the AAU Students
The AAU Deanship of Student Affairs along with the Department of Public & International Relations organized on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 a dialogue session in cooperation with the Al-AAN Satellite Channel, which is broadcasted from the UAE, titled “The Youth Forum”. This dialogue program is broadcasted monthly dealing with topics and issues of youth in the Arab arena. This program which is produced for the first time from the campus of one of the Jordanian Universities discussed for one hour the youth opinions about Sarcastic Comedies which dominate the Arab drama, social media sites along with the electronic forums and platforms. The discussion focused on the freedoms and the spaces of dialogue, the limitations that cover the issues and the topics and messages which can be broadcasted through TV programs. All these topics and messages are discussed in light of the open media and the educational and social challenges which the Arab societies tried to preserve. It is worth noting that this event took place in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Majed Usaili and a number of University professors, staff members and students. The AAU students through their dialogues in the program which hosted the actors Rajaei Qawas, Ahmad Srour and the actress Nadia Al-Zoubi expressed their points of view about the sarcastic comedy which they believe in. They noted that the Sarcastic Comedies should be based on communicating the purposeful, educational, political and social messages that go in line with the prevailing customs and traditions of the Jordanian society. The AAU students hope that the role of this new comedy covers new spaces and dimensions in light of the challenges that the Arab youth encounter. This program will be broadcasted during the next week on Al-AAN Satellite Channel.
