Agricultural Technology Students at Al-Ahliyya Amman University Visit the National Seed Bank

Students from the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering program at Al-Ahliyya Amman University visited the National Seed Bank, affiliated with the National Agricultural Research Center, where they launched their practical field training program—becoming the first cohort of university students in Jordan to receive training at the bank. This visit comes as part of the university’s commitment to providing its students with distinguished training opportunities and linking them with national research institutions. During the visit, students were introduced to advanced scientific areas including: field input characterization, plant propagation techniques using tissue culture, preparation and conservation of genetic resources, seed germination methods, management of genetic banks and characterization processes, as well as genetic characterization of inputs. They also learned about the herbarium and its role in preserving biodiversity.
