Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University Achieves Two Distinguished Placements in the “Intaleq” Graduation Projects Award of the Hussein Fund for Jordanian Universities

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University has achieved a remarkable and unprecedented academic accomplishment by securing two second-place awards in the “Intaleq” Graduation Projects Competition, part of the Hussein Fund for Excellence and Innovation Awards for the academic year 2025/2026, in the fields of Agriculture and Food Security and Environmental Sustainability. This well-deserved achievement came after two outstanding graduation projects from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology were selected to represent the university among the top ten projects in these fields from a total of 39 projects submitted by public and private universities across Jordan. The second-place award in the Agriculture and Food Security category was won by student Aya Al-Abadi and student Ahmad Al-Saeedi, under the supervision of Dr. Qusai Al-Abdallah, for their project entitled: “Investigating the Potential Use of Bacillus thuringiensis Bacteria in Controlling Red Palm Weevil Larvae.” The second-place award in the Environmental Sustainability category was awarded to students Khuzama Al-Tawahieh, Ahsan Al-Balawneh, and Abdulrahman Al-Jalamneh, under the supervision of Dr. Subhiya Saifan, for their project entitled: “Investigating the Potential Use of the Wild Plant Arum palaestinum L. in Controlling Fusarium Wilt Disease.” This achievement culminated in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology’s participation in the National Exhibition of Nominated Projects, held on June 6, 2026, at the Hilton Hotel, under the patronage of Professor Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Engineer Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The event was attended by joint judging panels comprising academics and experts from the industrial sector. Both winning projects received the second prize of JOD 2,500 each. This distinguished accomplishment reflects the commitment of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Faculty of Agricultural Technology to linking academic research and undergraduate graduation projects with the drivers of economic growth and the challenges facing the agricultural and environmental sectors. Such efforts contribute to providing the Jordanian agricultural sector with innovative and sustainable solutions while preparing graduates who are capable of excelling and integrating successfully into the labor market. On this occasion, Dr. Maher Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Professor Sari Hamdan, President of the University, and Dr. Rasha Abdulhadi Al-Tarawneh, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, extended their congratulations to the winning students and their supervising faculty members, wishing them continued success, progress, and further achievements.
