Administrative Body of Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities returns to face-to-face meetings at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The administrative body of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities held its eighth face-to-face meeting in the presence of the President of the Federation and the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, and in the presence of deans of student affairs in the Federation member universities: Dr. Mohammad Al-Mazawda/ Yarmouk University, Dr. Suleiman Al-Sarayra/ Mutah University, Dr. Anas Al-Nabulsi/ University of Science and Technology, Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat/ Secretary-General of the Federation, Dr. Omar Al-Qafaween/ University of Philadelphia, Dr. Fathi Al-Faouri/ Petra University, Dr. Hossam Al-Shrrouf/ University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Rami Salem/ Princess Sumaya University of Technology, Dr. Mohammad Al-Quhaywi/ Al-Isra University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Arkan/ Al-Bayt University, D. Majid Masaeda/ Zarqa University, Dr. Sadiq Shudeifat/ Hashemite University, Dr. Aziz Al-Rahamneh/ Balqa Applied University, Dr. Bashir Krishan/ Hussein Bin Talal University, Dr. Al-Baraa Al-Rawashda/ Tafilah Technical University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jadaya/ Jadra University, Dr. Yassin Maharma/ The World Islamic Sciences and Education University, Dr. Rami Al-Dweiri/ University of Jordan, Mr. Alaa Abu Taha/ Treasurer of the Federation, Mr. Essam Al-Sahar/ Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities.At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Federation, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, welcomed the members of the administrative body, represented by the Deans of Student Affairs at member Jordanian universities. The proceedings of the meeting were as follows:First, the minutes of the previous meeting No. 7 were approved.Second, the Secretary-General of the Federation, Dr. Mustafa Al Attiyat, reviewed reports on all activities and workshops held by the Federation during the 2020/2021 academic year and which were approved. These are: training and arbitration courses for sports supervisors in the member universities of the games (volleyball- table tennis - basketball 3×3, TEQBALL Sport). Also reviewed were the reports on two seminars, “The Distinguished Management of Internal and External University Sports Activity,” and the seminar “The Impact of Fasting on Athletes in Ramadan in cooperation with the Arab Federation of University Sports”, as well as the organization of the King’s Birthday Chess Championship for Jordanian university male and female students, held remotely.Third, the new website of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities (www.sfju.net) has been reviewed, and its activation and launch have been approved, stressing the necessity of working on adding a news reel to broadcast sports news related to member universities. Marketing on the website to provide financial revenue to the Federation, should be done later.Fourth, a new logo for the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, that is contemporary and modern, was chosen.Fifth, the Chairman of the Technical Committee discussed a proposal to hold tournaments in the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021. This included table tennis championship and basketball championship 3×3 for Jordanian universities (males and females), and these were approved and transferred to the Technical Committee of the Federation for preparation and follow-up.Sixth, the formation of a committee of members of the administrative body, including: Dr. Aziz Al-Rahamneh, Dr. Rami Salem, Dr. Yassin Maharama, And Secretary General of the Federation Dr. Mustafa Al Attiyat, in addition to three members of the Technical Committee of the Federation. The committee was tasked with studying the offer made by Sportsology ME concerning the sponsorship of basketball activity in the Federation, reviewing the offer, and drafting the articles of an agreement in accordance with the interests of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities.Seventh, tasking the Technical Committee with preparing a plan for a sports tournament to be held within the Federation’s celebrations of the centenary of the establishment of the Jordanian state in the city of Aqaba, setting the proposed date in early November 2021, and specifying the games to be included in the tournament, in preparation for the participation of the Jordanian universities team in the Arab Sports Tournament to be held in Abu Dhabi at the end of this year.Eighth, the financial status of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities was reviewed by the Treasurer of the Federation, Mr. Alaa Abu Taha.Ninth, the administrative body decided to extend Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s hosting of the headquarters of the Federation for a second term due to the circumstances of the Corona pandemic.
