Abdul Rauf Al-Rawabda delivers A Speech at Al-Ahliyya Amman University on centenary of Jordanian State
On the occasion of the Jordanian State centenary, and in conclusion of the series of events held by Al-Ahliyya Amman University to celebrate this occasion, the University had the honor on Monday, 21-6-2021 of hosting Mr. Abdul Rauf Al-Rawabda, former Prime Minister, who delivered a speech entitled The Jordanian State in 100 Years, at Al Hourani Center for E-Learning and Integrated Education.The University President, Dr. Sari Hamdan, welcomed Al-Rawabda and the accompanying delegation, and the audience, including the president’s assistants, deans, deputies deans, and remote participants. Dr. Hamdan began his speech by shedding light on Al-Rawabda’s life from his early stage of education on the hands of Sheikh Mahmoud al-Shayab at the age of five, university education in Beirut, and up to entering the club of ministers, assuming various ministerial positions, and eventually becoming a prime minister. He, accordingly, and duly had an important role in the first 100 years of Jordan’s history.Al-Rawabda spoke about the modern Jordanian state, which was built with will and determination, passing through the stages of creation, development, and maturation, and he touched on its timeline, from its foundation through the years and stages that the authorities have gone through. He also touched on the challenges faced by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its elements of strength, the most prominent of which is the legitimacy of the Hashemite family with its prophetic lineage, loyalty to the message of the Great Arab Revolution, and the legitimacy of national achievement. At the end of his speech, Mr. Al-Rawabda opened the door for discussion and inquiries with faculty members and attendees.In conclusion, Dr. Hamdan, President of the University, presented the University's memorial shield in honor of Mr. Abdul Rauf Al-Rawabda.
