AAU's Foreign Students Participate in the First Arab Forum of Jordanian Universities

A delegate of 15 students from Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the first forum of Arab students in Jordanian universities. This event took place on Thursday 19/4/2018 in the Holiday Inn Hotel. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Twaisi sponsored the forum in deputy of the Prime Minister, Hani Mulqi. The forum was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for the ministry's affairs, Jamal Sarairah. Twaisi said that the conference coincides with the plan of attracting new Arab students to study in Jordan. Arab students were almost 40 thousands in 2016. The plan aims at raising the number to 70 thousands by the end of 2020. The program included a lecture by Mohammad Dawudiyeh, CEO of Al-Dustour Newspaper, and Dr. Mohammad Masalha, the chairman of the Jordanian Political Science Association. The lecture dealt with the political role of Jordan and its attitude towards the Arab causes. A short film about education in Jordan titled Study in Jordan was displayed. Then, the former prime minister, Dr. Adnan Badran led the Horizons and Challenges symposium that focused on higher education in Jordan and Arab countries .Then Dr. Abu-Jamha discussed the Arab youth role in encountering extremism. Additionally, a film was shown about tourism in Jordan. Finally, there was a training session about the culture of dialogue presented by Dr. Khaleda Masarweh and Dr. Maha Darwish.
