AAU Wraps Up Hosting Jordanian Universities Sports Union, Passes the Baton to the University of Jordan

In a culminating event led by our President Professor Sari Hamdan, AAU officially handed over the Jordanian Universities Sports Union flag to the University of Jordan. This symbolic gesture concluded a successful four-year hosting tenure by our university (2019-2023). The handover ceremony was attended by key figures from both universities, including Professor Safwan Al-Shayyab, Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Jordan, and Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiat, Dean of Student Affairs at our university. President Hamdan highlighted the history of the union, dating back to the University of Jordan's presidency from 1982 to 1995, and emphasized collaborative efforts with Jordanian sports federations, such as a pivotal agreement with the Jordanian Basketball Federation. Expressing confidence in the University of Jordan's leadership, President Hamdan commended the administrative and technical staff of both universities. In response, President Dr. Nathir Obeidat acknowledged AAU’s gracious hosting and praised the notable progress achieved during the four-year period despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields between President Hamdan and President Obeidat, symbolizing the successful conclusion of our university’s hosting of the Jordanian Universities Sports Union.
