AAU Wins Three Awards at the Global English Language Olympiad
Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved an outstanding academic and creative milestone by winning three awards at the Global English Language Olympiad. The university secured second place in the English Language Examination category among 55 competing university teams, with Yarmouk University taking first place and An-Najah National University (Palestine) placing third. This achievement reflects the advanced linguistic competence and academic excellence of AAU students, evaluated against rigorous international standards.
In addition to this major accomplishment, the university earned two further awards:
• Most Impactful Community Engagement Project
• Best Theatrical Performance
These recognitions underscore the students’ linguistic mastery, creativity, teamwork, and the well-rounded integration of their academic and applied skills.
The awards were presented at the Olympiad’s closing ceremony, held under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the presence of senior officials, academics, and representatives from participating institutions.
AAU’s participation in this global event came under the direction of University President Professor Sari Hamdan, and the direct supervision of Professor Linda Al-Khawaja, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Ahmad Shalabi, Head of the Department of English. The university was represented by two teams trained by Dr. Khaled Al-Anber and Dr. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh from the Department of English. Dr. Saleh Hammad from the Faculty of Educational Sciences provided additional academic support and guidance for the teams’ research projects.
