AAU Welcomes Senate Tourism and Heritage Committee

In a commitment to academic excellence, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, AAU's Chairman Of The Board Of Directors, hosted the Senate Committee of Tourism and Heritage from the Jordanian House of Senate. Led by Engineer Abdul Kareem Al-Hindi, the delegation visited AAU's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Faculty to assess operations, following President Faisal Al-Fayez's directive for focused committee visits to private sectors. AAU attendees included Prof. Fayez Haddad, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality, Mr. Ayman Rasheed, Mövenpick Hotel - Amman's General Manager, and Mr. Amin Arida, Executive Director of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Faculty. Engineer Al-Hindi highlighted this visit as part of a series aimed at evaluating tourism and hotel management education across Jordanian universities. The meeting addressed demands, forwarding them to the Senate President for action, embodying the committee's supervisory role. Dean Fayez Haddad emphasized the faculty's role in meeting the urgent demand for trained students from neighboring countries. He praised the committee's commitment to youth development, aligning with the vision of King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein. Dr. Maher Al-Hourani expressed gratitude for the committee's collaboration, highlighting AAU's contributions to Jordan's service sectors. He emphasized AAU's commitment to introducing specializations aligned with local and international job markets, emphasizing the university's recognition in global rankings. Committee members lauded the faculty's efforts to refine applied and scientific skills, stressing continuous development to supply the sector with qualified human resources. The committee toured faculty facilities, engaged with students, and exchanged commemorative shields to symbolize joint efforts.
