AAU Takes Part in Al-Balqa Governorate’s Main Celebration of the Centennial Founding of the Jordanian State

AAU participated in the main celebration which was organized by Al-Balqa Governorate on the occasion of the Centennial Founding of the Jordanian State. During the inspection round of the maintenance and beautification of the governorate’s entrance, the AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan received the patron of celebration, His Excellency Engineer Yahya Al-Kasbi, the Minister of Public Works & Housing and His Excellency Nayef Odeh Al-Hedayat, the Governor of Al-Balqa and the accompanying delegation. It is worth mentioning that AAU in cooperation with Al-Balqa Governorate, the Ministry of Public Works & Housing, the Greater Salt Municipality, the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Balqa Governorate and the All-Jordan Youth Commission planted 50 palm trees and a variety of ornamental trees on Al-Saruo main road. Moreover, it participated in rehabilitating and lighting the traffic island, painting sidewalks and rehabilitating the iron barriers. The University also took part in the comprehensive plan of rehabilitation, beautification and lighting of the main pedestrian bridge, where work will begin in the coming days.After that, the AAU buses, decorated with pictures of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, may Allah bless and preserve him, and the centennial slogan, roamed the streets of Al-Balqa Governorate and the suburbs of the capital Amman and distributed sweets on this occasion which is dear to the hearts of Jordanian citizens. The Chairman of the AAU Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, and the AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, stressed the need for strengthening the bonds of this cooperation and coordination and for supporting all activities and initiatives that contribute to the development of the local community in Al-Balqa Governorate, where the University is a major component.
