AAU Takes Part in Accreditation Commission Workshop on Dual Program Implementation in Universities
Professor Mosleh Al-Tarawneh, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Law at AAU, participated in a workshop organized by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions at Al-Hussein Technical University. The workshop focused on the implementation of dual programs in universities, with the goal of establishing connections with employers in specific academic programs that benefit both students and the workforce. The objective is to allocate 30% of the program's curriculum to on-the-job training.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Dhaffer Al-Sarayreh, President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, who highlighted that dual studies represent a global educational trend aimed at integrating both theoretical academic and practical application aspects. This integration enhances the educational experience for students, helping them better comprehend scientific concepts, theoretical aspects, and gain practical experience that enhances their communication, personal, and social skills.
Al-Sarayreh emphasized that dual study programs involve students in the organizational structure of the partner institution, exposing them to its working methodologies. These programs also encompass planning and implementing projects within the organization across multiple stages during the student's academic period. This ensures that students acquire real work experience in the same field as their academic specialization, providing additional educational value offered by dual study programs.
Al-Sarayreh further highlighted that the Commission has established a permanent committee of experts in this field to monitor and implement the quality assurance of the program. It also serves as a networking platform for partners involved in the implementation of the Integrated Bilateral Studies Program in Jordan.
