AAU Students Visit the Ministry of Youth and Al-Hussein Youth City
Students enrolled in the Public Relations and Sports Marketing course in the Department of Physical and Health Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences – Al-Ahliyya Amman University conducted a field visit to the Ministry of Youth and Al-Hussein Youth City, under the supervision of course instructor Dr. Mohammad Matawa’.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the practical aspects and operational stages of public relations management at both the Ministry and Al-Hussein Youth City, effectively linking theoretical concepts with hands-on applications.
The visit began with a welcoming session featuring speeches by Amani Al-Majali, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Youth; Nawal Al-Sayyadeh, Assistant Director of Al-Hussein Youth City; and Noor Al-Otoom, Director of Public Relations at Al-Hussein Youth City.
Ms. Al-Majali offered an overview of the department’s functions, highlighting its role in promoting the ministry’s initiatives and youth activities, as well as fostering relationships with media outlets and related institutions.
Ms. Al-Sayyadeh discussed the mission of Al-Hussein Youth City in supporting sports and community development, emphasizing its responsibility in managing and maintaining facilities and ensuring high-quality service delivery to visitors.
Ms. Al-Otoom provided a briefing on the role of the Public Relations Department in organizing press conferences during major events.
The students were given a tour of the media center and media facilities at Amman International Stadium, in addition to exploring the stadium’s various facilities and players' changing rooms. They also received a briefing on the technical and administrative arrangements for matches from Qusai Al-Khazaleh, the stadium director.
During the visit, the students engaged in practical training exercises, including the organization of mock press conferences within the media center. These exercises involved developing scenarios where students practiced managing and leading a press conference, presenting issues, and answering questions from fellow students simulating media attendees—an experience aimed at enhancing their skills and preparing them for the job market.
