AAU Students Succeed in Their Campaign Under the Slogan “Mishwarak Hisaboh Alina”

The Energy & Minerals Regulatory Commission decided to commit the gas stations which obtained the approval for launching them in different areas in Jordan to specify a future site for electric car chargers. Engineer Farouq Al-Hiyari, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners said that the decision keeps up with the new developments witnessed by the sector, widen the use of electric vehicles and enables their owners to charge them through the available energy sources whether in these stations or homes. It is worth mentioning that this decision came as a result of the campaign which AAU students launched in the earlier program “Ana Usharek” in cooperation with the AAU Career Guidance & Graduates Follow up Office. The Campaign aimed to encourage students to use electric vehicles and to increase charging points in vital areas and external roads. It also aimed to use renewable energy “solar cells” in generating energy needed for these vehicles as well as increasing users’ awareness in using these vehicles. This awareness will provide more than three hundred million liters of fuel and protect seven hundred thousand tons of CO2 which affects positively the Jordanian environment and economy.
