AAU Signs Memorandum of Understanding with “Nafes” Fund
Al-Ahliyya Amman University, represented by its President Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Fund for Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises “Nafes,” affiliated with the Higher Council for Science and Technology. The fund was represented by Chairman of its Supervisory Committee and Secretary General of the Council, Professor Dr. Mashhoor Al-Rifai. The signing ceremony took place yesterday.
Attending the event from the university were the President’s Advisor and Dean of the Graduate Studies Faculty, Professor Hadeel Al-Yaseen. From the fund, participants included the Council’s Assistant Secretary General for Scientific and Technological Affairs, Dr. Raed Ouda, and the Fund’s Director, Engineer Moath Al-Alawneh.
The MoU aims to enhance the performance of small and medium-sized private sector enterprises by improving their efficiency and increasing their competitiveness. Its focus areas include training and capacity building for private institutions in administrative and financial domains, in addition to offering consultancy services and conducting studies for their projects and programs.
Professor Sari Hamdan praised the role of the Fund and the Council, emphasizing that the university places no barriers between itself and the local community. He affirmed AAU’s commitment to serving society and strengthening its role in social responsibility by supporting the national role of small and medium enterprises.
Professor Mashhoor Al-Rifai highlighted that the Council, through the Fund, seeks to foster partnerships across societal sectors, particularly by linking industry with academia. He emphasized the importance of empowering universities to act as leading institutions and enabling private sector companies to actively engage in economic development.
Engineer Al-Alawneh stated that the MoU lays the groundwork for a long-term strategic partnership with the university to achieve shared goals in research and development. He noted that this collaboration will contribute to creating a competitive economic environment that supports innovation and opens new horizons for SMEs to achieve sustainable success.
