AAU Signs A Cooperation Agreement with Zaha Cultural Center and Hosts A Signing Ceremony of Agreements for A Number of Jordanian Universities

Under the patronage of Her Excellency Princess Alia Al-Tabbaa’, the Chairman of Board of Directors of Zaha Cultural Center and the AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, AAU hosted the signing ceremony of cooperation between AAU and the Center on Wednesday, 30/1/2019. This event included another signing ceremony of agreements between the Center and the following Jordanian universities: Philadelphia University represented by its President Prof. Motaz Sheikh Salem, The University of Islamic Sciences represented by its president, Prof. Salman Al-Badour, the Arab Open University represented by Prof. Magdy Mashaela, the Head of the Educational Studies Department on behalf of the President and Amman Arab University represented by Prof. Hiyam Al-Tal, the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, on behalf of its President. Prof. Sari Hamdan, the AAU President, welcomed in his speech the audience and praised the guiding and social role played by the Zaha Cultural Center during the past two decades. He also expressed the pride of the universities affiliated with the agreement by participating in the activities of the Zaha Cultural Center. It is worth mentioning that more than one million children from 20 centers in ten governorates of the Kingdom benefit from the Zaha Center activities. Prof. Sari also expressed his pleasure at the signing of this partnership agreement which coincided with the birth of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein (May Allah protect him and preserve our country along with the universities and leading service institutions). On her part, Princess Alia Al-Tabaa expressed her pleasure to sign this agreement for the benefit of the childhood sector in Jordan in the fields of psycho-social counseling and participation in artistic and voluntary activities.At the end of the ceremony, the Princess handed a symbolic gift made by the children of the Zaha Cultural Center, to AAU president Prof. Sari Hamdan. In turn, the AAU President handed the Princess a souvenir and the University shield on this occasion. The Princess also presented souvenirs to the participants in the signing ceremony. After that, attendees and guests were invited to participate in a special ceremony on the occasion of the birth of His Majesty King Abdullah II. It is worth mentioning that the Zaha Cultural Center was established in 1998 when the project was established with the generous donation of Mrs. Zaha Jardaneh Mango, believing that the child is the main building block in society. This project targets the age group (2-17) and seeks to provide an interactive environment suitable for children and innovative co-curricular activities.
