AAU’s Faculty of Agricultural Technology Conducts a Scientific Visit to the Royal Stables

As part of enhancing scientific, cultural activities and expanding knowledge, a group of students specializing in Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, from the courses "Animal Biotechnology" and "Environmental Biotechnology," visited the Royal Stables in the Al-Himma area, accompanied by Professor Raed Al-Atiyyat and Dr. Lana Kadoumi. During the visit, the students were welcomed by Dr. Mark and his assistant, Dr. Zein, who guided them through a tour of the stables' facilities, providing an overview of the activities and programs at the center. Throughout the visit, the students learned about the genetic traits of purebred Arabian horses, the methods for improving breeds, and how genetic engineering techniques are used to enhance health and performance, while focusing on preserving the original genetic traits of the Arabian horses. The visit also included a detailed explanation of the role of biotechnology in animal management and breeding, and how these technologies can contribute to preserving biodiversity and maintaining environmental balance. The students showed great interest in what they learned, especially in applying their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, which increased their appreciation for the importance of agricultural biotechnology and genetic engineering in supporting sustainability and developing the agricultural sector.
