AAU’s Dr. Usama Al-Ukeily Achieves the Best Scientific Research Award

Dr. Usama Al-Ukeily, of the AAU Basic Sciences Department, Faculty of Arts & Sciences obtained the Award for the best distinguished Scientific Study in Applied Mathematics and Physics which was presented in the 2018 ICAPM Conference. His paper which was titled “Approximation of Radial Basis Function with Linear Polynomial: Comparison and Application” tackled the issue of the leaf surface by using mathematical methods which give the best shape for the leaf which in turn leads to studying the behavior of water drops or insecticides when touching the leaf surface. Some of its applications include photosynthesis, nutrition process and specifying the quantity of insecticides which are sprayed on trees.
