AAU Receives the Banner of the Sports Union of Jordanian Universities from its Counterpart Al-Zaytoonah University

The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan received the Banner of the Sports Union of Jordanian Universities from the Acting President of Al-Zaytoonah University, Prof. Muhammad Al-Majali. Prof. Sari Hamdan said that AAU intends to add to the achievements of Al-Zaytoonah University during its hosting the Union for two years.He also pointed out that the University will seek to link the Sport Union of Universities with the Olympic Committee and international universities. Prof. Hamdan added that the Union's base in terms of participation will be expanded not limited to local and Arab participation, especially as Jordanian universities have students who won the first places and golden medals in international participation. He pointed out that the AAU student Saleh Al-Sharabati won the Golden Grand Prix Sport Taekwondo Championship held in Bulgaria a few days ago. In his speech, Prof. Sari thanked Al-Zaytoonah University for hosting the banner of the Sport Union of Jordanian Universities for two years, which witnessed distinctive achievements and he also thanked the directors of sports activity in universities for their diligence and work. In turn, Prof. Muhammad Al-Majali, the Acting President of Al-Zaytoonah University, said that today’s meeting bears two implications: the first one is unhappy feeling because we will miss all creative persons who exerted their utmost efforts to support all activities held in Al-Zaytoonah University during the period of its hosting the Union banner. The second one is delightful feelings since the Union will move to one of the prestigious universities in the homeland, Al-Ahliyya Amma University headed by Prof. Sari Hamdan, who has an excellent experience in sports and who will realize new achievements to be added to the achievements of Al-Zaytoonah University.Dr. Munir Al-Afaishat, the Former Secretary General of the Sport Union of Universities highlighted through a video the most prominent participations and achievements of the Union during the past two years. It is worth mentioning that this event was attended by Dr. Mustafa Al-Atiyat, the AAU Dean of Student Affairs, a number of deans of student affairs in public and private universities and a number of members of technical committees and administrators from different universities.At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Sari Hamdan handed Prof. Muhammad Al-Majali an honorary shield and the banner of the Sport Union of the Jordanian Universities was handed over to Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
