AAU Ranks First Among Private Universities Locally and 41st in the Arab World in Webometrics 2025
Al-Ahliyya Amman University has achieved a significant academic milestone, ranking first among private universities in Jordan in the first edition of the 2025 Webometrics Ranking, securing the 41st position in the Arab world. This achievement reflects the university’s continuous progress in strengthening its research standing and digital impact at both regional and global levels.
The Webometrics Ranking is one of the world’s most recognized university rankings, assessing institutions based on their digital presence and impact. It evaluates universities according to criteria such as the volume and influence of their online content, the number of published research papers, and the extent of knowledge dissemination across digital platforms. The ranking aims to promote academic openness and encourage universities to enhance their global scientific and technological impact.
According to the latest results, the university excelled across three key performance indicators:
• Digital Impact (Visibility) – 50%
• Researcher Influence (Transparency/Openness) – 10%
• Scientific Research Impact (Excellence/Scholar) – 40%
Additional Achievements in International Rankings
In addition to this accomplishment, our AAU has made significant progress in various global rankings:
• Ranked 600-800 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
• First among private universities in multidisciplinary research (Ranked 251-300).
• First among private universities in the QS World University Rankings, within the 801-850 category.
• Ranked 401-500 in Information Technology, 601-800 in Medical Sciences, and 401-500 in Business Administration, according to the latest THE World University Rankings.
• Ranked 16th in the Arab Universities Ranking by the Association of Arab Universities (2024).
• Ranked 28th in the THE Arab University Rankings.
This accomplishment underscores Al-Ahliyya Amman University's commitment to developing its academic and research environment, enhancing its digital presence, and ensuring high-quality research and innovation outputs.
