AAU Ranks 301 in the World According to the “Times” Global University Ranking of 2019

The “Times Higher Education” Organization announced on Wednesday, 4/4/ 2019 that Al-Ahliyya Amman University achieved the rank 301+ in the world according to the Global “University Impact Ranking” of 2019. The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan said that this classification comes as a first step towards achieving universality. This ranking is achieved for the first time by AAU. It indicates the seriousness of the University and its administration towards raising the quality of education and scientific research. He also pointed out that international classifications contribute significantly towards improving the international status of the University in particular and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in general in the field of higher education and scientific research. Prof. Hamdan stressed that the University, with all its cadres, has worked to achieve the standards of the British classification Times which aims to classify the best universities in the world according to several standards. The most important standards are the university academic reputation, the opportunities that the university provides to its students and the qualification of its graduates to enter the labor market in addition to the number of scientific research and the rates of international scientific publications of the university. In turn, Dr. Anas Al-Saud, the AAU Director of Accreditation & International Classification, said that this achievement is the expected result of the efforts of all members of the academic & administrative staffs and the continuous and personal support of the Chairman of the AAU Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Ahmed Al-Hourani, who always stresses the need to keep pace with the international standards in education and scientific research. Al-Saud also pointed out that the organizers of this classification annually monitor precisely the university performance to verify its seriousness and its educational efficiency in the evaluation as well as updating its indicators periodically. Thus, the classification mainly relied on the University economic and social effects in accordance with the UN's objectives.
