AAU Ranked 401-500 Globally and First Locally in Business and Economics, Second in Computer Science According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Subject Rankings 2025.
Al-Ahliyya Amman University has achieved a new academic milestone that strengthens its global position, as it has secured advanced ranks in the Times Higher Education (THE) Subject Rankings 2025 across several prominent academic fields, as follows:
• Business and Economics: The university ranked first among all Jordanian universities and was placed within the 401-500 global range. This category includes the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
• Information Technology: The university ranked first among private universities and second locally after the University of Jordan, placed within the 401-500 global range. This category includes the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Faculty of Engineering with specializations in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
• Health and Medical Sciences: The university led private universities and ranked third locally, after the University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology, in the 601-800 global range. This category includes the Faculties of Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering with Medical Engineering specialization, and the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahliyya Amman University has ranked within the 600-800 global range in the Times Higher Education global rankings in its first entry into this classification. It also ranked first among private universities in interdisciplinary research, within the 251-300 range. Additionally, the university topped private universities in the QS World Ranking within the 801-850 range, ranked 28th in the Arab world according to Times Higher Education, and 16th Arab-wide in the Arab Universities Union Ranking.
On this occasion, the President of the University, Professor Sari Hamdan, confirmed that this achievement is the result of continuous commitment to the development of the research system and linking its outputs to the Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized that the Times Higher Education ranking is one of the most important global rankings that assess the quality of education and research based on academic and research impact, and expressed his gratitude to the university community, including academics, administrators, students, and partners, stressing the importance of continuing to achieve academic leadership and excellence.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, pointed out that this achievement reflects Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s commitment to developing an innovative research system based on academic excellence, which enhances its position as a leading educational institution that attracts students and researchers from all over the world. He also highlighted the university's pivotal role in supporting the knowledge economy and contributing to the development of the Jordanian higher education sector, in line with the Royal Vision for Economic Modernization, aiming for sustainable development and enhancing Jordan's competitiveness globally.
Dr. Maher Al-Hourani affirmed that this year will witness an unprecedented qualitative leap at the university and its academic faculties and scientific centers through a shift toward applied technical education, and strengthening global partnerships with industry and international research centers to ensure the university’s entry into the top 500 global universities in international rankings, becoming an icon of Arab and global universities.
